LightPath Announces Production Expansion of Molded Infrared Optical Assemblies

Manufacturer of optical components and assemblies, LightPath Technologies has signed a supply agreement with a major infrared camera manufacturer, who produces industrial and commercial vision systems for industrial, commercial, government and military sectors.

The agreement extends the business association between both the companies. LightPath has also announced that it has expanded the production capacity for its molded infrared optical assemblies.

LightPath produces optical products such as packing solutions, higher-level assemblies, laser components that use proprietary automation technology, proprietary collimator assemblies, GRADIUM glass products, and precision molded aspheric optics. The solutions of LightPath are utilized in a wide range of markets including telecommunications, test & measurement, defense, medical, and industrial.

LightPath Technologies’ CEO, Jim Gaynor stated that the partnership strengthens the significance and increasing market utilization of the company’s molded infrared optical assemblies by major manufacturers. He added that with the use of glass molding, LightPath is able to maximize manufacturing volumes for numerous products such as thermal imaging cameras and infrared optics. In addition, the glass molding usage helps in minimizing the overall system cost, Gaynor said.
