Biophotonics Suite Commissions Laser Interlock Controller System

The University of St Andrews has announced that the Biophotonics Suite in the university’s Medical and Biological Sciences Building has commissioned the Photonic Solutions LICS06 laser interlock controllers. The Biophotonics Suite has completed the installation of five LICS06 laser devices into the laser labs.

Laser Interlock Controller System

The laser systems ensure safe and convenient operation for a wide range of lasers and other experimental requirements such as Raman spectroscopy and single cell transfection. The laser interlock controller is available in a kit form. The main contractor installed the LICS06 in the labs easily and efficiently

Dr David Stevenson at the University of St Andrews stated that the university required a cost-effective and safe laser control device to enable safe operating conditions in the labs. He added that the LICS06 proved to be a suitable device in meeting these requirements. The laser system is now completely ready for operation, Stevenson remarked.
