L-com Releases Plastic Optical Fiber Cable Assemblies with HFBR Connectors

Manufacturer of wireless and wired connectivity solutions, L-com has announced new plastic optical fiber (POF) cable assemblies with integrated HFBR interface. The company carries duplex and simplex versions in non-latching and latching connector types.

The HFBR connectors are used in gaming, medical, industrial control, and automotive equipment industries. The connectors are suitable for plastic fiber that is more durable than glass fiber. Plastic fiber exhibits large core size, which makes the plastic fiber convenient to terminate and to offer more bandwidth across short distances. L-com will also produce customized lengths of the cable assemblies together with short lead times.

Product Manager of Fiber Optic Products at L-com, Steve Smith stated that the HFBR interface is vital for numerous products and services. He added that the company’s portfolio is complete with the introduction of HFBR cables.
