Developer of fiber-optic network products, OFS has unveiled the gel-free OPTION1 DT fiber-optic cable at the OSP Expo. The event was held in San Antonio from 13 to 14 October 2010.
The riser-rated OPTION1 DT fiber-optic cable integrates the durability crucial for outside plant usage with the safety aspects of an indoor cable. The cable reduces installation expenditures and enables faster deployment. The cable design also helps in saving labor costs by providing quicker splicing with higher yields in view of a clean work environment.
The cable enables easy splice preparation and keeps the installer’s cabinets, closures, workspaces, and tools safe and clean. Dry cables are considerably light in weight, enabling them to be conveniently handled on plant and crew infrastructure.
The OPTION1 DT cable provides maximum fiber counts of 288. It offers improved system performance by evading the splice point attenuation loss. The cable meets the CSA FT4, UL 1685, and UL 166 specifications for flame resistance. It features an UV-resistant jacket that is dependable in direct sunlight.
The OPTION1 DT fiber-optic cable is available with OFS’ TrueWave RS LWP Single-Mode,and AllWave Zero Water Peak Single-Mode fibers.
