Supplier of plastic optical fiber for Ethernet products, NYCE Networks has demonstrated its products at the OSP Expo that took place in Texas, on October 13 and 14. OSP Expo is an event for the telecommunication firms to display their new broadband networking technologies.
NYCE demonstrated several plastic optical fiber products for commercial and residential networks. The demonstrations included the NYCE EPM-2, which is a POF to Ethernet Media Converter Switch.
Many commercial and residential customers were connected directly to the fiber-optic networks all over the world. This offered a big prospect for service providers to offer quicker Internet services, and gain more customers. The broadband service providers require dependable CPE products to convert the fiber connection to an Ethernet network, inside the premises of the customer.
The EPM-2 POF plugs into the present electrical outlets and utilizes plastic optical fiber for high bandwidth network creation. NYCE’s Plenum-Rated, UL-certified NPC-75 POF is flexible and durable. It can be easily installed and concealed than the conventional CAT-5 cables.
POF offers better Quality of Service than the traditional cable networks, and it is not affected by the cable electrical noise. It undergoes low network congestion, which is common in bandwidth-intensive applications, such as online games, IPTV, and VOIP. The EPM-2 POF enables broadband service providers to offer service with old cables, without investing on upgrading the existing wiring in the premise.
