GAO Tek, manufacturer of telecommunication testers, has released a new coarse wavelength division multiplexer (CWDM). The multiplexer is suitable for access networks, fiber optic amplifiers, cellular applications, telecommunications, and WDM networks.
The multiplexer uses a thin film coating technology for its operation, and has low sensitivity to temperature, wide passband, wide passband, low insertion loss. It is characterized by an optical path that is free from epoxy. The CWDM maximizes the fiber-optic infrastructure with the transmission of multiple wavelength signals over the same optical cable.
The coarse wavelength division multiplexer has an operating wavelength range of 1510-1610 nm with a channel spacing of 20 nm. The multiplexer allows a dual-fiber strand to support data rates and multiple network topologies to raise bandwidth capacity.
The CWDR increases a fiber infrastructure’s capacity by removing the necessity of installing new fiber optic cable at full capacity regions. The device delivers a stable performance in challenging environments. The coarse wavelength division multiplexer is included in micro optic packaging with non-flux metal bonding.
