Concept Cars Feature Valeo Full-LED Headlamps

Valeo, a manufacturer of integrated systems for the automotive industry, is installing full-LED headlights on the SEAT IBE and ZB10 RENAULT concept cars showcased at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. Valeo’s collaboration with other auto manufacturers has resulted in the development of the new lighting systems.

The LEDs are ideal for electric vehicles, as the lighting devices enhance the vehicle’s range, and minimize fuel consumption by about 0.2 litres per 100 km, in internal combustion engine automobiles. LEDs provide low energy consumption, and have a longer lifetime. In addition, the LED headlights and their related compact optical systems offer benefits, such as customized vehicle styling for designers. The combined usage of advanced LEDs and efficient optical system generates light that is equivalent to natural daylight, thus improving safety.

Valeo specializes in designing, manufacturing and marketing modules, integrated systems and components for automobiles. The company develops systems for the automotive industry with the aim of reducing CO2 emissions.
