Portable Power Systems has announced a new laser-diode driver, the PPS-150 series. The laser-diode drivers have EEPROM memory for parameter storage.
The units are controlled with a microprocessor and an EEPROM memory to store the last set parameters required for the laser. The PPS-150 laser-diode driver offers a maximum of 150 A of pulsed current or CW at a wide range of compliance voltages.
The PPS-150 features over current and over voltage protection, driver and laser over temperature protection, remote interlocks and coolant. In addition, the device offers an internal pulse, current and frequency generation. A reverse EMF protection is also included in the laser diode driver.
The PPS-150 series functions from an 85 to 264 VAC universal input. The laser-driver is available with optional 0 to 10 V analog outputs for controlling the voltage and current of an external power supply.
