Germany-based company, Leybold Optics, has launched a new glass coating system called the Hot Apollon. The Apollon is one of the series of deposition systems developed for thin film PV production and glass coating process.
The Hot Apollon is suitable for thin film PV coating. For instance, it can be used for depositing transparent conductive oxides contact layers.
The Hot Apollon is a real-time monitoring system. It uses a unique sputter coating technology to deposit multiple-layered coatings on glass panels at increased temperatures. Leybold Optics’ Hot Apollon features lambda sensors and an automatic deposition control to deliver a high level of productivity and process consistency for thin film photovoltaic coating.
The Hot Apollon includes rotary cathodes that promote optimal material use, high layer quality, minimal target changes and reduces ownership costs. The company’s process knowledge and experience assure maximum optimization of layer properties for a wide range of applications.
