UTStarcom Wins Bid to Provide Jinan Radio+TV Network Center's Optical Broadband Solution

UTStarcom has received the bid for the Equipment Purchase Project of Jinan Radio & TV Network Center.

This bid allows UTStarcom to provide the Center's broadband solution and to maximize the network upgrades. The project will utilize the EPON technology to set up wireless network services in commercial and residential buildings.

The Jinan Radio & TV Network Center will offer carrier-class multimedia and broadband service to residential and business customers, with the use of the UTStarcom solution. In addition, the Center will deliver data broadcasting, VOD (Video-on-demand), and various value added services in the center’s cable television network.

The new two-way network transformation project will install optical access lines in the EPON + EOC, and EPON + LAN ways. The project will utilize products, namely, the ONU204i-h, the machine frame style BBS4000, and the OLT BBS1000+box. The BBS4000 EPON equipment supports a maximum of 44 OLT EPON interfaces. The BBS4000 also serves up to 2,816 GEPON subscribers through a 9U chassis, with 1:64 pm splitting ratio. The BBS1000 + EPON equipment offers the L2/L3 switching feature, and supports a maximum of 8 PON links. The BBS1000 + offers a maximum of 1Gbps data transmission via FTTC/ FTTB/ FTTH optic networks.
