ASD’s HandHeld 2 Spectroradiometer Ideal for Remote Sensing Research

Analytical Spectral Devices (ASD), a developer of high-performance spectrometers, has rolled out the new FieldSpec HandHeld 2 spectroradiometer, designed for applications in oceanography, environmental science, agriculture, and remote sensing research. The portable spectroradiometer utilizes near-infrared spectroscopy to perform material measurements instantly, without any destruction.

Handheld 2 Spectroradiometer

The HandHeld 2 spectroradiometer features self-contained data gathering, along with substantial spectrum storage capacity. It also includes a color on-board display to enable more effective field work, by eradicating the requirement for continuous connection to a PC. Other features of the spectroradiometer include standard AA battery power, laser targeting, and ergonomic controls. The strong enclosure of the spectroradiometer assures durability and convenient transport.

The spectroradiometer delivers the performance needed for diverse applications, offering 25° field-of-view, 3 nm resolution, +/- 1.0 nm accuracy, and 325 - 1075 nm wavelength range, and proprietary DriftLock compensation for quick scan times.

The FieldSpec HandHeld 2 instrument measures 215 x 140 x 90 mm, and weighs below three pounds. It is offered with a Pelican case, which meets the carry-on baggage requirements of FAA. The spectroradiometer delivers lab-quality results for diverse applications, and saves data collection time for scientific, as well as industrial users.
