Huawei’s 48-24-Port Optical GbE-FE Active Ethernet Card Launched at 2010 FTTH Expo

Provider of advanced telecommunications network solutions, Huawei, will launch a new 48/24-port Optical GbE-FE Active Ethernet card at the 2010 FTTH Conference & Expo. The event will be held in Las Vegas from 12 to 16 September 2010.

The 48/24-port Optical GbE-FE Active Ethernet card will allow service providers to offer point-to-point connectivity by utilizing the optical Active Ethernet technology.

The inclusion of the 48/24-port Optical GbE-FE Active Ethernet card improves the significance of the Huawei MA5600T Optical Line Terminal fiber access platform. The MA5600T Optical Line Terminal can deploy high-access density of 672 active GbE ports for each chassis at 80 km distances. The platform supports FTTE, FTTC, FTTB and FTTP solutions, as well as, high bandwidth businesses and homes services.

The 48/24-port Optical Active Ethernet card will be introduced in the market in Q4 of 2010.

Huawei USA’s Senior VP of Marketing and Product Management, Charlie Chen stated that the 48-port Optical Active Ethernet card will provide high-density Gigabit connectivity to operators for FTTx deployments.
