GAO Tek Launches 17A Fiber Optic Fusion Splicer

GAO Tek, manufacturer of electronic measurement instruments and telecommunication testers, has released a new, advanced 17A optical fusion splicer to splice erbium doped, non-zero dispersion shifted and dispersion shifted fibers. The splicer automatically detects the end face of the optical fiber and offers multiple fusion program selections.

17A optical fusion splicer

The 17A optical fusion splicer consumes low fusion power. It features digital color display and provides concurrent observation of Y and X axial optical fiber. The optical device is lightweight, compact and has a large memory capacity to store a maximum of 8000 groups of sequential results. The splicer uses its built-in sensors to calibrate the fusion parameters automatically. The splicing device adjusts itself to environmental conditions including pressure, humidity and temperature.

The user-friendly optical fusion splicer provides both manual and automatic operating modes required for selection. The 17A splicer features an RS232 communication interface to transmit data to a computer for analysis, printing and storage.
