SCANLAB has unveiled a new laser material processing software, the laserDESK, at Photonics West 2010. The laserDESK is a multifaceted program that supports the RTC5 controller board’s capabilities and incorporates the company’s novel control and servo concept, the iDRIVE technology.
The laserDESK with the RTC5 offers a 1 MB buffer dynamic memory management, 20-bit position signals, and a virtual image field of 24 bits for layout positioning. In addition, the laserDESK can query numerous status information in real-time, provides error monitoring with integrated laser control, and offers input/output communication interface for a programmable logic controller (PLC).
The laserDESK offers a number of standard features such as an easy-to-use graphical user interface (GUI), different import filters for vector or bitmap graphics, 2D and 1D barcodes and access to object parameters. The software program is ideal for controlling the company’s scan systems and lasers with the RTC5 through the XY2-100 or SL2-100 protocol.
