Manufacturer of advanced optical products, Tamron, will launch a new, high-resolution telephone zoom lens, the SP 70-300 mm F/4-5.6 Di VC USD, on August 26, 2010. The model A005 DSLR lens includes ultrasonic auto-focus drive and image stabilization features, and is currently designed for the Nikon mount.
The A005 lens for Sony and Canon mounts will be developed shortly. Although the lens is specifically developed for the DSLR cameras, it can also work with AF 35 mm and full-frame sensor cameras as well as the APS-C sensor cameras having a zoom range of 70-300 mm and 109-465 mm, respectively.
The SP 70-300 mm F4-5.6 Di VC USD DSLR lens features unique elements such as an XLD (extra low dispersion) and an USD. The former reduces flare and ghosting and prevents chromatic aberration. The low-dispersion (LD) lens also guards against chromatic aberration. The lens, when integrated with the company’s VC image stabilization system, provides internal focusing, consistent length, improved balance and manual focus.
The SP 70-300 mm F4-5.6 Di VC USD DSLR, combined with Tamron’s VD and USD, provides a suitable solution for photographers utilizing DSLRs and standard film cameras.
