Riegl Laser Measurement Systems, manufacturer of 3D laser scanners, has unveiled a new, advanced LMS-Q680i airborne laser scanner for the FAA rotocraft. The laser scanner does not pose any risk to individuals in the surrounding area and utilizes minimum laser power to attain the Class I rating proposed by the FAA policy.
The LMS-Q680i laser scanner offers a 400 KHz laser pulse repetition rate and an improved point density performance. It also provides echo digitization for a complete waveform examination. This echo digitization has now been integrated with signal processing. The combination of echo digitization with signal processing enables the operator to receive high -pulse rate from high altitudes and obtain superior measurement densities at the ground level.
The LMS-Q680i provides a 60° field-view and 200 lines/s scan rate. The device is ideal for coastal mapping, power line monitoring, city modeling, and DEM model generation and forestry applications.
