South Carolina-based company, Huffman, has launched a new HP-245ACC laser welding system with an enclosed atmospheric chamber. The welding system is ideal for welding reactive materials such as Titanium.
The HP-245ACC systems are specifically developed to meet the needs for precision production equipment in the flight and industrial gas turbine industry.
The inclusion of an enclosed atmospheric chamber further improves the laser powder fusion welding process by providing an inert gas setting. To meet the requirements of the end users, the HP-245ACC can be configured with a number of features such as part handling devices, antechambers, moisture and oxygen sensors and inert gas purification and handling systems.
The laser welding system can be used for weld restoration on various turbine engine parts namely integrally bladed rotors, seals, shrouds, vanes and blades. The welding system also provides 3D freeform fabrication in which layers of materials can be welded to construct complex 3D modules.
