Shentel Updates DWDM Fiber-Optic Network with Cisco's Coherent Technology to Support 100G Speeds

Cisco today announced that Shenandoah Telecommunications Company, a leading regional U.S. telecommunications service provider, has updated its dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) fiber-optic network with Cisco's Coherent DWDM technology to support 100 Gigabit per second speeds to its subscribers throughout Virginia, West Virginia and Maryland. The Cisco ASR 9000 Series router will provide resilient high-speed IP services.
