ST Imaging Releases Third Generation of ST ViewScan Microfilm Solution

ST Imaging (ST), a leading provider of digital microfilm and book scanning technology solutions, is proud to announce the release of the third generation of the ST ViewScan Microfilm Solution at the 2014 ALA Annual Meeting.

The ST ViewScan III microfilm scanner with an all-new 14 megapixel USB 3.0 camera is the most advanced microfilm scanning solution available today.

“This new high resolution camera will allow users to see more details in the film as well as digitally zoom in closer than ever before,” says Bruce Rennecker, Vice President of ST Imaging. “Our microfilm viewer/scanner has always been known as the easiest system to use and now our native image quality is unmatched.”

The ST ViewScan III’s camera has a USB 3.0 interface which is now the standard on Windows 7 or 8.1 computers making installations fast and easy. The 14 megapixel color camera creates sharp, clear, high-resolution images when viewing black & white or color film, fiche or opaque cards. The new camera combined with ST Imaging’s standard 7x to 105x zoom lens allows any film to be brought back to life. The new ST ViewScan III microfilm scanner ships with the standard basic viewing and image capture software. The optional ST Premium software has been enhanced. New features include:

  • OCLC integration for fast and easy interlibrary loan fulfilments from film
  • FamilySearch integration allows images to be saved directly to a patron’s account
  • Automatic image cropping and de-skewing
  • Jamex charge for use integration

Existing ST ViewScan II customers will have an option to upgrade to the new camera for a nominal cost.
