Ekinops Introduces New 100G Solution Optimized for Metro and Regional Network Applications

Ekinops, a leading provider of next-generation optical transport solutions to carriers and private network operators, introduced today its new 100G solution optimized for metro and regional network applications.

The solution was designed specifically for network operators who need to cost-effectively move massive amounts of data between multiple sites and cover distances of up to 1000 km.

“We took the time to talk to a number of large network operators to understand the requirements that were critical for their applications,” noted Francois Xavier Ollivier, COO of Ekinops. “They told us they wanted coherent 100G, not only for their long-haul applications but also for their metro and regional networks, in order to increase capacity and reach.

Ekinops' 100G metro and regional solution leverages true coherent technology as the foundation for a new 100G transponder and 100G muxponder. The 100G modules can be deployed in Ekinops’ compact C200HC chassis (2RU) and C600HC chassis (7RU). Each chassis can support multiple modules for very high density.

Thanks to its expertise in delivering highly integrated systems, Ekinops has produced an extremely energy-efficient, compact, high-capacity metro solution, one that yields significant operational savings for customers.
