A new range of all natural wood resin polish called Gugolz™ Polishing Pitch has been introduced by Meller Optics. This polish is available in five distinct grades ranging from very-soft to very-hard and in melting points ranging from 52°C to 87°C to precisely match pitch hardness with the optical material being polished.
The quality of the pitch is consistent in each batch with respect to consistency and hardness. Meller’s Gugolz polishing pitch has been made from all-natural wood resin instead of petroleum byproducts.
The pitch can also be used to block, polish or lap any substrate optical material. This all-natural pitch is easy to use by just slicing the required amount and melting it and then it is ready to use. There is no need for filtering, screening or adding additives.
Meller Optics specializes in grinding and polishing precious stones like sapphire and ruby and has developed low cost and high-speed process for various laser glasses, fluorides, ceramic, germanium, zinc selenide and other materials. They also customize and fabricate optical materials and supply optical polishing pitch and polishing abrasives. Configurations include substrates, domes, lenses, windows and prisms.
