NXP Semiconductors has declared that Ningbo Baishi Electric, a China-based company, which uses the CFL driver ICs of NXP, has acquired Stage 5 certification from EU Ecodesign for non-directional household lamps. Ningbo Baishi is a global supplier of LED lamps and fluorescent bulbs.
The certification has been issued for non-dimmable T4 2U CFL of Ningbo Baishi. The UBA2211 driver of NXP, which is produced using the GreenChip technology, has been used in the T4 2U CFL.
The President of Ningbo Baishi Electric, Mr. Zhang Liqiang stated that CFLs save energy; however, all CFLs do not have the same quality. Comparatively, fluorescent lamps with better quality have a longer life. He added that these lamps save cost and are eco-friendly.
The General Manager and Vice President of power and lighting solutions product series in NXP Semiconductors, Stephane Curral wished Ningbo Baishi for its achievement and was happy that the company was a part of this endeavor. He added that the company designs CFL driver ICs according to the specific requirement of customers using energy saving lamps for better light. Fluorescent lamps using the company’s GreenChip technology can meet the customer specifications and enhance the life and quality of the product.
The NXP UBA2211 product line provides a CFL driver with total integration. A preheat function controlled by current has been included in the driver which helps producing small fluorescent lamp models with higher conversion of power and longer life up to 12000 to 15000 h.
Ningbo Baishi supplies lamps to retailers in Asia. Additionally, it supplies fluorescent bulbs and LED lamps to retail chains in North America and Europe, which includes Lidl and Aldi at Germany, Carrefour at France and others.
