Infocast will conduct its second annual Smart Lighting Partnering Summit at Santa Clara’s Network Meeting Center at Techmart, between April 2 and 3, 2012. Significant structural transformation is being expected in roadway, street and outdoor lighting.
In North America, more than 52 M roadway and street lights will be replaced in the coming years. However, there is a rapid growth in the outdoor and street lighting market, contributing to a new and innovative array of energy efficiency technology.
With the emergence of control and luminaire technologies, the previously used mercury-sodium bulbs will be replaced, leading to significant potential benefits such as conservation of maintenance costs and energy that will find applications in urban infrastructure and communication.
As a representation of smart lighting technology, Infocast's Smart Lighting Partnering Summit will benefit municipally-owned and investor-owned services, and senior decision-makers. Through this event, a strong relationship will be established between the suppliers of luminaire and control systems and financial and technical decision-makers in North America. In addition, several case studies and discussions based on economic, policy and engineering performance will be conducted, benefiting many.
At the event, the Director of the Municipal Solid-State Street Lighting Consortium, Edward Smalley will deliver the keynote presentation. The summit will also feature presentations by other speakers from the City of Pittsburgh, New York City Department of Transportation, The City of Glendale, Georgia Power, City of San Jose, Virginia Tech Transportation Institute, Duke Energy, California Lighting Technology Center, Cree, Acuity Brands, Echelon Corporation, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, MIT and more.
