Rensselaer Lighting Research Center (LRC), a well-recognized university-based research and education organization dedicated to lighting, will host the 13th International Symposium on the Science and Technology of Lighting (LS13), scheduled between June 24 and 29, 2012.
The symposium will accommodate selective forum of engineers and scientists, who will share the recent developments in R&D of science and technology based on lighting systems, light sources, and related applications.
Since 40 years, LS has achieved several milestones in contemporary lighting technology, including the introduction of solid-state lighting (SSL) technologies in its program.
The sessions and events that will feature in the LS13 include CTO session in which the chief technology officers from major companies will share their visions for the future developments of light source and system; ASSIST-sponsored session wherein the Alliance for Solid-State Illumination Systems and Technologies (ASSIST) will host presentations on the latest technical developments; Lighting metrics session will focus on the effects of light sources; and Tour of LRC facilities where representatives of various organizations can exhibit their current research through displays and presentations.
In addition, the LS13 will also feature some major factors such as Paper Presentations by executives on current light source-related work; Poster Sessions where the papers presented by delegates will be displayed; overviews of progress in specific areas of interest by special speakers; Proceedings Volume published by FAST-LS; and selection of notable landmark papers.
The LRC is located in a 30,000-square-foot facility with advanced equipment that enabled researches and simulation testing in various areas of lighting. The LRC is the unique university-based lighting laboratory to be accredited by the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP).
