Vu1, a producer of mercury-free, energy-saving, illumination lighting technology declared that the U.S patent and trademark office has given a notice of allowance for a patent application.
The patent application is for its own electron stimulated luminescence lighting technology.. This patent aims to protect Vu1 bulb’s basic design by using a number of improvements visualized for the device.
From the time, carbon nanotubes have been discovered, cold cathode technology has come to the forefront, which the company wants to utilize for attaining better efficiency, highly accurate turn on times , simpler electronics and lower cost. The approach has been tested internally and may be ready for commercialization within two years.
According to the President and CEO of Vu1, Dr Scott, this is the second patent issued by Vu1 and a noteworthy step to further preserve their IP. This specific patent preserves their migration path towards better efficiency and lesser design cost with the use of this novel technology.
