Standard Register Launches Laser Wristband for Patient Identification

Standard Register Healthcare announced that it has released a new anti-microbial laser wristband for patient recognition at the Healthcare Information Management System Society (HIMSS) to be held in Florida.

The PurBand patient wristband has been manufactured to help hospitals fight against P. aeruginosa, e-Coli and MRSA bacteria.

Standard Register’s Director of the Patient Identification and Safety Programs, John Parmley stated that the PurBand wristband features an anti-microbial coating, which helps hospitals to decrease the bacteria. Parmley added that the PurBand decreases bacterial infection by 99% within 3 days.

Standard Register Healthcare will offer samples of the PurBand wristband at HIMSS Expo. The product will be presented in combination with SMARTworks Clinical Enterprise that facilitates generation of wristbands with patient bar codes, photos and demographics for positive patient recognition.
