Pioneer, Asia Optical to Sign Joint Venture Deal for Digital Camera Production

Global producer of electronics products for business and consumer applications, Pioneer has proclaimed that it has decided to establish a joint venture alliance between its Brazilian subsidiary, Pioneer do Brasil and Asia Optical Group for parts production in Brazil.

Asia Optical Group produces and distributes optical components and is based in Taiwan, while Pioneer do Brasil produces car electronic products.

Pioneer is aggressively expanding its business operations in the emerging markets. As per the joint venture agreement, the companies will produce digital cameras on an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) basis, and other equipment and components to be utilized by the companies will be developed at Pioneer do Brasil facility.

Through the joint venture agreement, Pioneer will augment the local purchase of components for its products produced in Brazil. The company will also manufacture and distribute the components to other firms in the future. Additionally, the alliance will use the procurement expertise of both the firms, resulting in reduced global production expenditures.
