Philips Acquires Optimum Lighting

Philips has acquired a privately-owned company, Optimum Lighting that offers lighting solutions for the retail, industry and office segments. The acquisition further extends Philips’ capabilities in professional lighting systems.

Optimum Lighting manufactures various lighting fixtures to address the increasing requirement for energy-efficient solutions. With its headquarters in North Carolina, USA, the company specializes in the design and construction of custom-made lighting systems.

Philips Lighting’s CEO, Rudy Provoost stated that the acquisition allows the company to offer customized turnkey solutions that offer enhanced lighting performance and reduced operating costs. Provoost added that more opportunity exists to transfer  conventional lighting used in most buildings to advanced energy-saving solutions.
