Goodrich Launches SWIR Video Camera for Military Imaging Systems

The ISR Systems Princeton group of Goodrich has launched a new gallium arsenide (InGaAs) shortwave infrared (SWIR) video camera that is ideal for marine intelligence applications, covert surveillance, and military imaging systems.

SU640HSX SWIR Camera

The SU640HSX SWIR camera has a resolution of 640 x 512 pixels with a 25 micron pitch. The camera features an expanded configuration memory and sophisticated dynamic range improvements. It has a diverse operating temperature range between -40 ºC and +70 ºC.

The cameras have the potential to image through obscurants such as smoke, haze, and fog. The InGaAs SWIR sensors, with user-selectable contrast enhancement modes and inbuilt non-uniformity corrections (NUCs), offer daylight to low-light imaging for laser detection and 24/7 passive surveillance.

The SWIR camera withstands adverse environments and features low power consumption. It is MIL-STD-810G certified for transportability, explosive atmosphere, temperature, altitude, humidity, vibration, and mechanical shock. It is also certified for radiated and conducted emissions as per MIL-461F and FCC CE regulations. The camera is ideal for driver vision enhancement applications and for integrating into robotic or handheld ground systems, and unmanned or manned airborne systems.
