Luminus’ PhlatLight LEDs Illuminate Live Webcast Concert

Manufacturer of PhlatLight LEDs, Luminus Devices announced that the Vari-Lite’s VLX Wash Luminaires use the CBM-380-RGBW PhlatLight LEDs for Arcade Fire’s live HD webcast concert in New York City.

For the concert, the Canadian indie rock band took the help of Susanne Sasic, a lighting designer, who utilized 40 VLX Wash Luminaries to illuminate the band at Madison Square Garden.

The Vari-Lite VLX Wash Luminaire comprises seven replaceable PhlatLight CBM-380-RGBW LEDs. In addition, the luminaire produces a total light output of 14,000 white lm using and features 10,000 hours of LED lifetime at maximum output.

The big-chip Luminus LEDs facilitate new general lighting applications in lighting markets like digital displays and signage; industrial high-bay lighting; roadways; residential; retail; entertainment; and architectural.

Luminus’, Director of Global Entertainment, Don McDaniel stated that the VLX architecture and Luminus big-chip LED compliment each other. McDaniel added that the popularity of Wash Luminaires among lighting designers is an evidence of the color uniformity produced by the luminaires.
