EPISTAR’s HV-LED Achieves 162 lm-W Luminous Efficiency

EPISTAR has demonstrated the breakthrough of the monolithically integrated DC multiple array chip LED called the High-Voltage (HV) chip LED that allows the cold white LED to achieve a high luminous efficacy of 162 lm/W.

Record breaking 162 lm per W 5000K is achieved by 45 mil blue HV-LED

The HV-LED is suitable for high-voltage applications and lighting applications, enabling improvement in efficiency and power management.

The HV-LED exhibits higher wall plug efficiency due to the new, sturdy high voltage chip design, and offers minimal power consumption, compared to the conventional LEDs. In addition, the flexibility of current and voltage adjustment of the HV-LED aids in reducing the LED circuit design and package, thereby improving the overall efficiency.

Epistar Lab focuses on the development of LED technologies and solutions that offer high efficiency and minimal power consumption. The record high luminous of the 45mil InGaN HV-LED was achieved by operating the chip at 5000 K of cold white at 20mA condition.
