Pixtronix, CMI Develop PerfectLight MEMS Display Technology

Developer of display products, Pixtronix has developed the PerfectLight MEMS display technology for mobile applications, in collaboration with Chimei Innolux (CMI). Both the companies have recently developed the prototype displays that use the Pixtronix technology. CMI, a developer of TFT-LCD display products, manufactured the prototype display.

The displays will be showcased at the FPD International 2010 Expo to be held in Tokyo, Japan. The companies also announced that development of bigger-sized display prototypes is in progress. The larger displays will be available from 2011.

Pixtronix’ Chief Executive Officer, Tony Zona stated that the company develops new kind of low-power display technologies for the notebook PC, tablet, and smartphone markets. By collaborating with CMI, the company has attained quick progress in providing prototypes that showcase low power consumption, as well as, full-color video. Zona added that Pixtronix is looking forward to continue partnership with CMI and deliver large-sized display in 2011.
