Supplier of test solutions for optical fiber systems, M2 Optics is offering the capability to examine fiber-optics in real-time without any interruption in the network activity.
The Fiber Monitor instantly recognizes various common issues such as data theft/tapping attempts, degraded connections, and broken fibers. The fiber monitor uses correlation optical time delay reflectometry (C-OTDR) technology to provide enhanced accuracy and precision, when compared to traditional OTDR systems.
The fiber monitor is affordable and is ideal for various applications. Every chassis can examine a maximum of 16 dark or active fiber lines concurrently, with a maximum distance of 60 miles. The device links to the deployed optical network without the need for rerouting. The device’s inbuilt monitoring software can be accessed from any place, and it offers straightforward evaluation of network activity. The accessibility offers networking systems an opportunity to react to fault conditions automatically and responds to intrusion attempts by producing alarms.
M2 Optics’ VP of Marketing, Kevin Miller stated that the fiber monitor helps data centers and network providers in the public transit, healthcare, military/government, and financial markets to assure service availability at any time.
