Acuity Brands announced that it has completed an outdoor LED lighting pilot project at Anderson University.
The company used its Holophane luminaires, which offered sustainability and energy savings to Central Indiana’s streets, for the project.
The Indiana Department of Transportation has provided a grant for Anderson University for an energy saving lighting system. The new lighting system was targeted to minimize energy consumption by about 40%, and outlive conventional high pressure sodium (HPS) luminaires. The City of Anderson also provided help for the lighting project.
The university’s campus is illuminated with the Holophane GranVille LED luminaires, which have an anticipated lifespan of 50,000 h, when compared to the 24,000 h offered by the HPS luminaires.
The GranVille LED fixtures are available with various uplight options, luminaire shapes, trims, and with premier or classic optics. The symmetric and asymmetric distributions offer more flexibility for applications, including parking lots, walkways, campuses, residential areas, city streets, and parks.
The VP and GM of Holophane at Acuity Brands, Jack Ries stated that the Holophane GranVille LED luminaires are suitable for environment that necessitates durability and an appealing appearance.
