New Coated Achromatic Lenses from Edmund Optics

Optical components provider, Edmund Optics now offers its TECHSPEC MgF2 Coated Achromatic Lenses in small diameters and F/1 designs. The selection of lenses includes Micro Achromats and Fast Achromatic Lenses.

The computer-optimized lenses offer corrections for on-axis chromatic and spherical aberrations, as well as, provide various optical solutions for the requirements of polychromatic imaging and illumination.

Coated Achromatic Lenses

The TECHSPEC Fast Achromatic Lenses, the fastest cemented doublets, enable maximum light collection. They create small focused spot size and finer images, without reducing the clear aperture. In addition, these lenses provide enhanced chromatic focal shift. These lenses feature F/1 designs, and they reduce the spherical and chromatic aberration to deliver fine focused spots at short distances. The company offers the Fast Achromatic lenses in the diameter range of 9 - 25 mm, with a single layer coating of MgF2. These lenses are suitable for numerous laser-focusing applications.

The TECHSPEC Micro Achromats are offered with a broadband multi-layer or single layer MgF2 coating, for the visible spectrum. They are available in the diameter range of 1 - 5 mm. These lenses are suitable for imaging applications that are space constrained, including medical imaging and borescopes.
