Solar cell manufacturer, Suniva, announced that its advanced ARTisun solar cell series are being utilized to power novel solar designs and renowned projects across the globe.
The projects include the LumenHAUS project of Virginia Polytechnic State University, the Helios Energy Solar Car, a competition to design fuel-efficient cars, the Plastiki Expedition, an environmental awareness program and Pianotrip, a documentary film to promote awareness on green ecology.
In addition to the above projects, AES Energies also utilized Suniva’s solar cells to design new prototype electric car for an exhibition, ‘CoptoCap’.
Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University’s Associate Professor, Joseph Wheeler, stated that Suniva’s high-efficient solar modules allowed them to win the coveted European Solar Decathlon award. The company’s solar cells enabled them to manufacture more number of solar arrays, which produced the required power capacity and made their project stand out from other entries, he said.
