Best Cleantech Company of the Year Award Presented to Lemnis Lighting

Lemnis Lighting has been awarded the "Best Cleantech Company of the Year" in Western Europe by World Finance Magazine. The company was honored as part of the magazine’s 2010 Technology Awards. The award was given at the London Stock Exchange and was received by John Rooymans and Frans Otten, founders of Lemnis Lighting.

The 2010 technology award nominees were placed before a panel that consisted of members who had a cumulative experience of 186 years in financial journalism. The magazine readers were also allowed to vote, based on certain criteria such as quality of product, customer satisfaction, and innovation.

The editors of the magazine said that Lemnis Lighting develops various innovations in lighting to help consumers and companies fight the climatic changes. Chief Executive Officer of Lemnis Lighting, Remko Gaastra stated that the award is a huge recognition and shows that they are really a leader in the LED lighting market.

In 2008, World Bank presented the Lighting Africa award to Lemnis Lighting; and in 2009, the World Economic Forum named the company as a Technology Pioneer. In 2010, Fast Company Magazine listed the company in the Top 10 Consumer Products. Lately, Lemnis Lighting was also chosen by the Government of South Africa to join them in the campaign to offset the impact of carbon dioxide arising from the FIFA World Cup.
