The presentation will focus on the positive features of LED street lighting applications and energy-efficient optics. These lighting applications and optics are IDA Dark Sky compliant lighting fixtures and are resistant to corrosion, vibration and shock. The LED fixtures minimize light pollution and provide enhanced wind loading properties.

Pinelli noted that the energy-efficient, long-life LEDs are perfectly suited for streetlight applications. The LEDs lessen the maintenance and operating costs and offers better light quality than the traditional light sources. Pinelli added that the LEDs’ benefits have made the utility companies and municipalities to deploy LED fixtures as a trial and the U.S. Department of Energy to carry out Gateway studies globally.
