Dialight reported that it has entered into a partnership with Veolia Environmental Services to offer recycling services for street light fixtures and high-intensity discharge (HID) lamps.
The new collaboration will provide the services to municipalities and commercial facilities that replace their traditional lighting with the energy-efficient LED lighting products from Dialight.
To save cost and energy, the municipalities and businesses replace the conventional fixtures in streetlights, buildings, parking lots and warehouses with the environmentally friendly LED lights. The discarded lamps and fixtures should be disposed or recycled in a proper manner as they contain harmful materials such as mercury. Any improper disposal of such hazardous materials will make the companies environmentally liable and expose them to penalty risks.
Veolia Environmental Services offers nation-wide commercial recycling of ballasts and lamps to different types of customers. The advanced processing system of the company enables the Dialight’s customers to increase efficiency and reduce cost to comply with the regulatory and sustainability standards.
The Chief Executive of Dialight, Roy Burton said that LEDs are more eco-friendly than the conventional fluorescent and HID fixtures. This recycling option will benefit the customers by adding to the advantages of switching over to LEDs and relieving the burden of disposal of the discarded fixtures.
