IconiGram Technology Provides Brighter Imagery, New Packaging and Other New Enhancements for JDSU Holographic Products
JDSU (NASDAQ: JDSU and TSX: JDU) today announced a new name for its world-class holographic technology platform at the annual CARTES and IDentification exhibition held in Paris, France. Now called IconiGram, the technology includes new features that enhance the visual impact and improve the application and distribution of holograms developed for products such as bank cards and identity documents.
“Many of the iconic holographic images created by JDSU have been recognized over the past two decades as synonymous with the science and art of holography,” said Mark Bonney, vice president and general manager of Authentication Solutions for the AOT business segment at JDSU. “The launch of the IconiGram brand reflects this tradition and our commitment to delivering innovation that helps enhance and protect major brands and products worldwide.”
Products that leverage the IconiGram technology platform include a hot stamp foil product (IconiGram HS), security laminates (IconiGram LM), and pressure sensitive labels and seals (IconiGram PS). New features include:
- Enhanced and brighter imagery for all IconiGram products, making it easier to identify and authenticate holographic images.
- New and environmentally friendly packaging for the IconiGram HS, hot stamp product.
- Dual registration marks for the IconiGram HS product that makes it easier to apply the hologram while providing greater registration accuracy.
- New delivery format optimized for modern holographic manufacturing processes.
Holograms are easily recognizable images that are difficult for counterfeiters to simulate. They are considered one of the most popular ‘overt’ security technologies that are used on products as a first line of defense against fraud.
