Searidge Technologies, a provider of mission critical technology solutions and services to the Air Traffic Control and Airport Operations industry, today announced that NAV CANADA has selected the IntelliDAR(TM) imaging platform and associated services, from Searidge Technologies, to build a system capable of weather monitoring in remote locations. The system will be deployed in up to 130 sites across Canada.
This modernized digital weather camera system being supplied by Searidge Technologies is a valuable tool for pilots and aviation users when planning and conducting their flight operations. The system helps to promote flight safety by providing current weather conditions to pilots assisting them in making timely weather-related decisions with confidence. The system will provide near real-time camera data showing the weather information of a given location, and additional information such as sector visibility.
"We are pleased to work with Searidge Technologies on this new project. This innovative technology will allow NAV CANADA to provide added weather information to the aviation community, and enhance safety in various remote locations" said Kim Troutman, Vice President, Engineering, NAV CANADA.
The weather monitoring system will use the Searidge IntelliDAR product. IntelliDAR is a technology platform that provides analytic capabilities to video scenes, in real-time. This platform can be used in various applications including ground control, hotspot monitoring and airport business intelligence.
"We are looking forward to further strengthening our relationship with NAV CANADA with the deployment of this weather monitoring system," said Moodie Cheikh, president, Searidge Technologies. "NAV CANADA is a recognized world leader and their adoption of the Searidge IntelliDAR technology demonstrates their ongoing commitment to safer aviation".
