Imperium to Adapt Ultrasound Camera Inspection System for Subsea Applications

Today, Imperium, Inc. announced the signing of a worldwide licensing arrangement to adapt Imperium's unique ultrasound camera inspection system for subsea applications.

The agreement, with Subsea 7, covers a variety of diver and ROV mounted uses in an offshore energy setting. Once Imperium's tools are adapted for subsea usage, the two companies will perform a series of trials on both legacy and advanced materials.

"We are delighted to have formed this alliance with Subsea 7. The far reaching presence and significant engineering capabilities of Subsea 7 will allow us to grow our application set to completely new areas," said Bob Lasser, Chief Executive Officer of Imperium, Inc.

"Imperium's NDT products make ultrasonic testing extremely simple, and applying their innovative camera technology to subsea usage represents a large potential advantage for our inspections," said Graham Sharland, Vice President of Life of Field for Subsea 7. He added, "We see this technology as another key step in providing support to our oil and gas customers in maintaining integrity of subsea infrastructure."
