Curtiss-Wright Controls Defense Solutions (CWCDS), a part of Curtiss-Wright Controls, has declared that the newly developed dual backlight variant of its rugged Skyquest AVDU2655 10.4" LED display is now available.
Developed with advanced features, AVDU2655 display is well-suited for application in law enforcement night flying, defense, and aerospace operations that require Night Vision Goggles (NVG).
Following its debut in 2010, the AVDU2655 has been incorporated in several aircraft platforms. The display is available with a standard in-built multiple analog inputs, touchscreen control, two high definition (HD) inputs, and a serial interface for accessing external devices like moving maps.
The dual LED Backlit Skyquest displays from CWCDS remove the filter from the screen’s anterior. Filtering takes place in the backlight, behind LCD. With the help of a simple toggle switch, either white daylight LEDs or green NVG-filtered LEDs can be opted. Besides providing better control, bright, full color image is generated, supporting both daytime and NVG operations.
Besides its varied laighting applications, the dual LED Backlit Skyquest displays are found to be effective and beneficial over previous cathode tube technology.
The AVDU2655 offers multiple video inputs such as STANAG 3350/B/C, HD-SDI, S-Video (Y/C), RGB Video and composite video that can support mapping systems and airborne camera systems.
The performance features of the Skyquest AVDU2655 Display include split screen and Picture-in-Picture; capable of being used solely or with integrated Skyquest Video Management System; its touchscreen allows controlling of moving maps; multiple video inputs with VGA graphics and high definition; and high brightness LED display greater than 800Cd/m2.
