Bridgelux, a producer and innovator of LED lighting technologies and solutions, has recently declared that HELLA Lighting has selected Bridgelux’s RS LED arrays for designing its first down light. The HELLA down light is a novel, low profile luminaire that uses a proprietary optical design based on Bridgelux LED array technology.
HELLA believes that the luminaire will generate an effective lumen output of 2600 lm in 4000K neutral white. Utilizing only 43 W of power, the new down light can effectively replace other conventional CFL and Metal-Halide lighting systems.
HELLA Interieur Lighting’s Head of Sales, Oliver Thurau said that HELLA is expanding its product line of interior lighting by integrating its skill and knowledge in automotive LED lighting. Bridgelux products provide excellent quality and technology, which is a significance of HELLA brand. The Bridgelux arrays also deliver efficient lumen output, generating high quality of light with uniform color. Bridgelux provides cost-efficiency, thereby ensuring minimal associated- risk involved in product line expansion.
Based on conventional lamp technology, majority of down lights using LED light sources need an elongated reflector to reduce glare. HELLA's down light incorporates an innovative optic, eliminating glare in a shallow form factor. The flat Bridgelux array architecture enables this optic by integrating a high flux density source with a directed beam. It is a versatile solution for lighting designers and contractors, enabling effective deployment for environments with reduced ceiling heights. The new HELLA down light is already available in the market and the 3000K warm white down light will be released this month.
