Electric Lighting Enters New Phase Following Light Bulb Ban

Following the prohibition of using 100W incandescent bulb, it is anticipated that there will be a high demand for electric lighting with CFLs, Halogens, and LEDs.

Lead Lighting Designer at Energy Performance Lighting (EPL), Rodney Heller says that there have been considerable changes in the lighting sector, and lighting is definitely more significant than just purchasing bulbs from stores. Heller offers recommendations that will facilitate customers and companies to adapt to a new era in electric lighting. Firstly, he feels that one must not fear change. Secondly, in addition to CFL bulbs, there are lot more products available including halogen bulbs with longer durability and higher radiance. Thirdly, one can select colors according to a person’s mood, such as warm/yellow colors for relaxation, and cool/blue colors signifying alertness. Fourthly, have a positive approach to the cost of LEDs, which is predicted to reduce by the end of 2012 due to energy conservation. He has also produced a television show spanning 30 minutes that will be aired on several channels titled Electric Light: Dawn of a New Era

Heller further adds that there are numerous choices for bulbs based on wattage, light color, and energy efficiency. The color of light has a significant impact on the psychological and physical aspects of a human being. Electric lighting provides 75% of cost savings with its lighting products that are long lasting without any need for replacement.

Energy Performance Lighting (EPL) was established in 2003. It focuses on precise lighting by employing energy-efficient fixtures and bulbs. EPL provides several approaches for deploying its lighting products in every possible way. Its innovative researches are carried out in collaboration with scientists to discover new challenges for lighting and its effects on a person’s physiological and psychological nature existing in workplaces.
