Illumination Engineering Society Recognises TLM-R16B LED Light Engine

The Progress Committee of the Illuminating Engineering Society has released a progress report for 2011 in which it has recognised the TLM-R16B LED light engine manufactured by TerraLUX.

The company’s products are part of a list of accepted products released by the committee, which is made up of experts from various areas in the lighting industry. Various products are submitted for evaluation and judging by the committee is done on the basis of innovativeness and the technological advancement involved. A presentation of the accepted products will be done at the annual IES Conference to be held at Texas from October 30 to November 1 2011.

The TLM-R16B LED light engine comes as a replacement to the MR16 halogen bulbs. The engine can be used under any environment that has been using MR16 halogen bulbs. The light engine adopts the LEDSense thermal management technology from TerraLUX and can easily fit into any MR16 fixture due to its shape. The light engine can maintain 70% luminescence for more than 60,000 h under any environmental condition as it contains the LEDSense LED driver, which can monitor temperature and optimise the flow of current within the limits set down by the manufacturer. The optimal output of the LED engine is 400 lm. The TLM-R16B LED light engine also comes with the dynamic transformer recognition technology, which makes it compatible with electronic and magnetic transformers in the range of 12 to 24V AC DC.
