Kvadrat Soft Cells announced that it will collaborate with Philips to deliver a luminous textile material to the market. The agreement will combine Kvadrat’s experience in sound absorption control and Philips’ expertise in ambient lighting, enabling interior spaces to be improved though texture and lighting.
Philips’ LEDs, when integrated with Kvadrat’s acoustic panels, enable lighting specialists, interior designers, and architects to improve space with ambient lighting.
Philips’ spectrum of colors in the LED range and Kvadrat’s wide range of textiles allow luminous textile to generate optimum atmosphere for a particular space. The LED lights, when combined with the panels’ texture, absorb sound and create a calm atmosphere. Hospitality and retail settings can be improved through dynamic visual content.
Philips’ General Manager of Large Luminous Surfaces, Leon van de Pas stated that the company is committed to developing lighting solutions that provide various atmospheres, moods, and effects for users. He added that the partnership would enable the company to further enhance the ambiance produced by light using acoustic control.
Kvadrat’s Managing Director, Henrik Holm mentioned that the agreement would enable lighting architects and designers to attain the desired ambiance by creating diagrammatic forms and content.
