An automated ID systems supplier, Accu-Sort Systems has introduced a mid-range laser-based barcode scanner, the AccuLazr AL5010, which has been designed for automated warehouse related applications like routing/sortation, shipping/receiving, track/trace, dimensioning, production validation, counting, weighing and labeling/tagging.
The easy to install AL5010 is ideal for industrial applications where reliability, high read-rates and precision is essential.
Ensuring a low ownership cost, the barcode system has been designed to read minute and damaged barcodes like those found on reusable totes or in the bead area of tires. It can also read various barcode orientations, thus enabling side-read or multi-side scanning on conveyors that are moving at high speeds of 500 ft per minute. The AL5010 also provides the flexibility of using the system in a broad range of auto-ID applications while providing 99.9 % accuracy while reading Grade A labels.
The operation time is significantly reduced when users utilize the ‘Learn Bar Code’ function to add barcodes from new vendors. Additionally, the optional interface modules and compact multiplexor-free design allows for easy installation and operation.
The AccuLazr scanner minimizes maintenance costs even in demanding industrial environments. This is possible due to its high reliability, which significantly lowers the risk of expensive downtime. The modular design enables for easy and fast repair if the scan head fails to function. A touch of a button enables a non-technical worker to replace the scan head within five minutes and also restore the parameters with a touch of a button. The absence of filters or fans, which might require replacement, makes the scanner maintenance-free.
Flexible connectivity can be achieved by the AL5010 barcode system through the inbuilt Ethernet-EtherNet/IP and a 15-pin high-density connector.
