Carl Zeiss, a company that develops electron microscopy products, has showcased its electron and optical microscopy solutions at the Pittcon Conference and Expo 2011.
The event was held between 13 and 18 March at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia. The company exhibited its Shuttle & Find interface, which is used in correlative light and electron microscopy applications.
The Axio Imager 2 is yet another embedded microscope platform for correlative microscopy. The EVO HD is a bright electron source for low-kV resolution in a standard SEM, and the ATLAS delivers large area picture capture for high productivity. Many such high performance optical and electron microscopy products were exhibited at the expo.
The company also participated in ‘lunch and learn’ seminars, such as the Correlative Microscopy and Atlas, the Helium Ion Microscopy for High Resolution Imaging and Nanofabrication, and EVO HD – High Performance, Total Flexibility.
The Shuttle & Find interface links light and scanning microscopes in life sciences and recalls areas of interest in inert samples in the microscope. The whole process lasts just a few seconds and opens new avenues in microscopy for quick and accurate overlay of light and microscope pictures, enlarging the details and combining functional and structural data.
Pittcon is an annual conference and expo targeting laboratory science. Pittcon 2011 featured new technology and instrumentation from over 950 producers, and included an educational program and networking platform to exchange ideas with scientists from across the globe.
