Basler Vision Technologies, manufacturer of digital cameras for industrial applications, has commenced the manufacturing of the ace area scan cameras.
The compact camera, with dimensions of 29x29x42 mm, features a 5 MP CMOS sensor, Power over Ethernet (PoE) and a Gigabit Ethernet interface. The camera comes in color and monochrome and can provide a frame speed of 14 fps at full resolution.
The power consumption of Basler ace cameras is 2.5 W, which yields low camera temperatures and make the device to be utilized in enclosed and compact environments. The 5 MP cameras are already qualified for a number of applications such as traffic systems, medical systems and other non-industrial applications.
The ace model is the most compact GigE camera in its range with PoE. It offers functions that are essential for a digital camera, including auto-functions for chunk data, look-up tables and gain and exposure. Its color improvement function provides high-quality images for applications demanding high color quality such as medical imaging.
The models come with resolutions ranging from VGA to 5 MP with a frame speed of up to 100 fps. In 2011, the existing ace line will be expanded with the introduction of new products with a Camera Link interface. These models feature CMOSIS Image Sensors’ 2 to 4 MP CMOS sensors with frame speeds of 340 and 180 fps, respectively. The series production of these cameras is slated for H2 of 2011.
